Run for Mom is a Steinbach and area community event providing an opportunity for individuals and families to participate in a 10KM Run, a 5KM Family Run/Walk or Kids Run on Sunday, May 8th, 2011. Our mission is to promote an active lifestyle and to raise money for designated community initiatives.
The year 2010 marked our third successful year with 476 registered participants and over 100 volunteers on the streets of Steinbach on a beautiful Mother's Day afternoon.
Run for Mom has raised funds for Anna’s House, a non-profit resource centre located in Steinbach that supports families in the area through a variety of programs. Just by participating you are helping fundraise, no separate fundraising required.
Whether your goal is to beat your best time, complete the distance help your family get fit and healthy, help raise money, we invite you to participate and support our community.
Bring Your Kids!
We added a Kids Run for 2010, which was lots of fun. All kids ages 3-6 ran their own mini race (approx 300 yards) just before the participants lined up for the 10KM and 5KM. This was a great photo opportunity with family and spectators cheering them to the finish line. Each kid received a bib number (1) as well as a finisher’s medal. This year we also rented an inflatable bouncer for the kids to play on while the 10KM & 5KM were going. The kids had a blast!
